Part-Time Family Services Specialist

At Arrows Family Services we provide services and education that strengthen families to reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect. 

Family Services Specialists at Arrows Family Services work as part of a multidisciplinary team to utilize a strengths-based family model of parent education to provide parent education and skills. In addition, conduct supervised parenting time to clients referred from county court systems or self-referred clients.  Services occur in our office locations, virtual, client homes or at community sites in a 1:1 format with parent(s) and/or family. The goals of the programs are to eliminate child abuse and neglect, to improve parenting skills, and to reunify children with their parents when possible. 


Wages & Benefits

$22.00 – $25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

SCHEDULE: 

This position requires work at Arrows Family Services centers in Milaca, Little Falls or Saint Cloud, in client's homes, as well as community locations. The position requires employees to work a minimum of 15 hours per week with a maximum of 128 scheduled hours per month. There is the opportunity for flexible scheduling and some remote work.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Direct Client Service: 

  • Provide a secure and neutral environment, which ensures positive experiences for parents and their children. 
  • Provide continuous supervision between visiting parent and child / children.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment within the agency setting for an optimal family experience. 
  • Teach parent education sessions based on curriculum and expertise. 
  • Conduct parenting observations and provide parents feedback on their interaction skills. 
  • Model appropriate social skills for parents and their children. 
  • Provide life skills education to increase parental capacity for positive family dynamics. 
  • Transport children to and from supervised parenting time visits as needed. 


Case Management: 

  • Prepare timely weekly written reports. 
  • Attend all appropriate collateral meetings with staff and referring agencies. 
  • Develop and implement a parenting plan with client. 
  • Coordinate and communicate with county workers, referring partners and other stakeholders. 
  • Attend agency-specific meetings and training courses as needed. 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, Child Psychology, Social Work, Family Social Science Special Education or a related human service field preferred
  • Associates degree with three or more years of experience also considered. 
  • One to two years of experience in child development, abuse/neglect support services, or parent education; using intervention methods for children with special needs. 
  • Experience working with culturally and racially diverse populations in lower socio-economic conditions. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and community partners. 
  • Must use good judgment in recognizing the scope of authority. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • Thorough understanding of parenting and child development issues. 
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to travel to participants’ sites within 60-mile radius of the office. 
  • Bi-lingual in Hmong, Somali, Spanish or other languages is highly valued. 


Licenses and/or Certifications: 

  • Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Arrows Family Services driving record requirements.  
  • Complete car seat safety training. 
  • Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit. 


Work environment and Physical Requirements: 

  • Work will be performed indoors. 
  • Must be able to travel and transport to visitation sites. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • The ability to complete assignments in all types of weather and ever-changing and sometimes allergenic environments in patient homes, including extreme heat, humidity, dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc. 
  • May be exposed to patients with infectious diseases.

Part-Time Community Resource Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-minded Community Resource Specialist to help individuals and families navigate resources, reduce barriers, and connect to the support they need to thrive.

SCHEDULE:

This position will primarily be based at the Morrison County Community & Family Resource Center in Little Falls, Minnesota.

Some evening and community event hours may be required.

Flexible scheduling may be available based on program needs.


POSITION SUMMARY

As a Community Resource Specialist, you will serve as a key point of connection between community members and local resources. You will provide family-centered support, resource navigation, referrals, and community outreach while helping build strong partnerships throughout Morrison County.

The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others, enjoys building relationships, and believes in the power of community-based support.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Support:

  • Meet with individuals and families to identify strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Provide resource navigation and referrals to community services.
  • Assist individuals and families in accessing housing, food, healthcare, childcare, transportation, employment, and other supports.
  • Follow up with individuals and families to ensure successful connections to services.
  • Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants.


Community Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and service providers.
  • Represent the Community & Family Resource Center at community events and outreach activities.
  • Promote agency programs and services throughout Morrison County.
  • Assist with educational workshops, support groups, and community events.


Documentation & Program Support

  • Maintain accurate and timely client documentation.
  • Track referrals, outcomes, and service utilization.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Identify resource gaps and emerging community needs.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Education & Experience:  

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Family Studies, Community Health, Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in child welfare, family services, human services, social services, behavioral health, community outreach, education, or a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, volunteer experience, and professional experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
  • Experience working with children, families, and community-based support systems is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of local resources, family support programs, and community service systems is highly desirable

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Strong written documentation skills.
