Part-Time Family Services Specialist

 

Family Services Specialists will provide observations for supervised parenting time visits, complete and document observations, provide parental feedback, and conduct intake interviews.


Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Family Services Specialist works directly with families whose children are involved with Child Protective Services.
  • Work in collaboration with county social workers, guardian ad items and other professionals.
  • Provide supervised parenting time between parents and their children.
  • Monitor, observe and document all interactions and behaviors between the parent and child/children during supervised parenting time.
  • Actively assess visit to provide de-escalation intervention or terminate a visit if it becomes harmful to the child/children.
  • Provide the parent/caregiver with rules and guidelines that are associated with the visitation program.
  • Monitor for safety issues, maintain line of sight, documenting interactions between parents and children, and operate within scope of work during visits.
  • Drive personal vehicle to transport children to and from visit locations; follow all car seat safety regulations and traffic laws at all times.
  • Documentation of passenger behavior.
  • Maintain car seats; keep cleaned and sanitized daily between clients. (car seats provided by agency)
  • Answer telephone calls, return phone calls and emails daily.

 Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
  • Current Auto Liability Insurance.
  • Must Be At Least 21 Years of Age.


 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
  • One year+ experience working with children, working within child welfare or other related field preferred.




Part-Time Therapeutic Visit Specialist

1099 Contract

 

Contracted Therapeutic Visit Specialist will provide therapeutic supervised visitation for families referred by the court. The Therapeutic Visit Specialist utilizes independent discretion and judgment to work with families on how parenting impacts parent-child bond, focus on parent attunement to child's emotional experiences and facilitate healing conversations.


Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  •  Conduct intake/interviews and screenings for children and parents for the therapeutic program.
  • Provide therapeutic supervision of visits using policies and procedures established by the Therapeutic Supervised Visitation Program in facilitating therapeutic visits.
  • Conduct pre-visit and post-visit meetings, therapeutic supervision, intervening and educate during visits.
  • Assist with providing parents psycho-educational parenting workshops, positive parenting skill building and securing outside resources if needed.
  • Ensure that accurate and detailed case notes are written upon completion of each therapeutic visit.
  • Submit written reports as required by the court and program.
  • Utilize the educational training, skills, and experience obtained from advanced degree to provide appropriate professional services, techniques, and strategies for clients and families.
  • Answer telephone calls, return phone calls and emails daily.


 Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
  • Current Auto Liability Insurance.


 Qualifications:

 

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or other licensed mental health professional required.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervised visitation experience and/or three years' experience working with families or comparable experience required.
